Founded in 2002, Rioplex Wireless grew to be one of the best known service providers in the Rio Grande Valley Area because of their exceptional small-business style service and rapid deployment of Internet to remote areas.
Rioplex was looking to update their web presence in order to make it feel as premium as their service. Their ultimate goal was to reflect their current quality of service through their website. Create the Bridge was brought in to handle the strategy, design, and engineering of their new site.
Ideas Sparked
Our initial conversations consisted of establishing company goals and devising ways in which we could accomplish them by using their new website. Of course, their site needed a design revamp, but more than that, we wanted to create a custom solution that would result in a high return on investment for them.
After a series of questions, we were able to find the best solution to their immediate problems. We identified that Rioplex was spending a lot of their time and money in pre-qualifying potential customers for their service.
Operations Defined
Their typical sales funnel began with a call from an interested potential customer during which the customer’s location would be acquired. Afterwards, a representative would visit the location to determine whether their lead was within the range of their service towers. As you can see, the amount of time and money that was expended to carry out this process was substantial.
We also realized that if a client wanted service they couldn’t call after hours or on weekends. Overall, there was no system in place for potential customers to easily assess whether or not Rioplex could provide them with Internet service.
Our Solution
To alleviate this problem, we designed a client-side application that would allow Rioplex to pre-qualify the visitor before the customer ever had to call. Visitors would have the ability to make this inquiry directly on the site by inputting their address. Based on their address, the application would inform the potential customer whether or not Rioplex could provide them with Internet.
Rioplex loved the idea, and we began to execute it.
We sketched up a few wireframes and started working on the information architecture and user flow.
Once we had this defined we created the user interface along with additional graphic elements.
Created typographic sets for our headings and body copy.
And here's how it all came together. We were really happy with this design.
How it Works
Upon visiting the site, the customer would be asked to enter their address to see if they were within Rioplex’s range of service. If the customer qualified, they could submit their contact information and a Rioplex representative would then reach out to them.
Even if they were out of range, we encouraged the visitor to still submit their information to use as user data. Doing so would give Rioplex insight into which locations they should service next.
The Results
The results were great. Within two months of the launch, they had over 1,200 visitors, of which 600 were unique, and even more impressive were the 150 new opt-ins. That’s an astonishing conversion rate of 20%!
By multiplying their most popular package priced at $69.99/month by the number of new customers, we can estimate that our personalized solution generated a monthly increase in revenue of $10,498.50! That’s amazing!
